Integrated Solid Waste (ISWM Management)

Mailhem’s Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM) solutions provide a modern and systematic approach to solid waste management. We handle all aspects of complete waste segregation, collection, composting, recycling and disposal systems for our clients and have the expertise in ISWM plants ranging from 10 (ton per day)TPD to 1000 TPD.

Mechanical Recycling Facility

Mailhem has the experience of handling 500 TPD Mixed Municipal Solid Waste in Nashik.  Materials above the size of 100 mm are sent for RDF, while those below 100 mm, generally high in organic content are transferred to the composting yard for windrow preparation.

Aerobic Windrow Composting

Materials below 100 mm are unloaded in the composting yard where they are sprayed with microbial culture. Windrows (heaps) are turned every week, and these are then mixed thoroughly to homogenize the material using excavators. The degraded material is vibro screened to produce fine quality compost, which is supplied to fertilizer companies including RCF & Zuari, and local farmers as well.

RDF

RDF is produced from combustible components, of MSW or Municipal Solid Waste. Mailhem takes this waste from industrial or commercial sites and converts MSW into RDF using processes like homogenizing, drying, segregation, size reduction, densification. RDF is a renewable energy source to ensure that waste doesn’t get dumped into a landfill but is used for power generation.

Bio mining of Legacy Waste and capping

We have completed the biomining of 1.90 lakh tonnes of legacy waste and capping for old dumping sites at our Nashik project. Capping is the traditional method to isolate landfill wastes and contaminants. Our team also conducts regular inspections to ensure that the weather, plant roots and human activity do not damage the capping.

Bioreactor landfill

Mailhem designs and operates bioreactor landfills in which liquids are added to help bacteria break down the waste. We offer different types of bioreactor landfills – aerobic, anaerobic and hybrid (aerobic-anaerobic). A bioreactor accelerates the decomposition and stabilization of waste. It also helps to stimulate the natural biodegradation process.

Plastic to Granules / fuel

Mailhem converts plastic to granules and fuel to reduce the waste plastic and also offers a renewable energy source to keep the planet green and clean. The waste plastic is converted into usable fuel by the process which is well known as Thermal Depolymerisation. We also convert plastic to granules after agglomeration, which is used for plastic roads construction.

Dead Animal Incineration

Dead animals are incinerated using both RDF fluff, and the oil generated from the plastic pyrolysis project. Mailhem’s incineration facilities incorporate all the processes like waste storage and handling, processing to prepare waste, combustion, residue (ash) handling and air-pollution control.

Biomass briquetting

The briquetting process at Mailhem converts horticultural waste into easy to transport, store and use briquettes. the process improves the combustion of briquettes in boilers & cement klinkers. At the same time, it makes it available for various applications in domestic and industrial areas.

Leachate treatment plant

Mailhem has expertise to treat the leachate in a Biogas plant. A high degree of BOD and COD reduction takes place in the anaerobic digester, followed by aeration & settling processes. This biogas is converted into power.

Scientific landfill

At Mailhem, we have the expertise in designing and constructing scientific landfills over 10000 square meters, for a 5-year period. Thereafter, it is capped with liners and soil cover with a green top, and a new scientific landfill will be constructed for the next 5 years.
