LPG has continued to gain popularity as a clean fuel source. Along with household usage, several industries are now switching to LPG to reduce the impact on our environment. It is also a cost-effective fuel source, making it a viable option for many businesses.

However, the LPG in tanks or cylinders is in liquid form, whereas the equipment we use requires gas. This conversion needs an LPG vaporizer.

What is a Vaporizer?

It is an apparatus that acts like a heat exchanger or a boiler that does not build pressure. Vaporizers are an integral component in many LPG and propane systems, and they are suitable for multiple applications. LPG enters the vaporizer as a liquid and exists in the form of gas. Although LPG vaporizers don’t build additional pressure, they protect against the refrigeration effect that causes frosting and loss of pressure.

Benefits of Using a Vaporizer

  • Eliminates re-condensation of vapor in the supply lines, which can cause fatal injuries
  • Utilizes 100% of the LPG in your tank, reducing the delivery frequency and lowering costs
  • Eliminates freeze-ups that can result in delay or production loss
  • Provides a constant supply of vapor at temperatures down to -40-degree Celsius
  • Allows a significant increase in the capacity of your system without extra tanks
  • Eliminates distillation of LPG

Types of Vaporizers

Dry Vaporizer

They are often considered the most reliable as they require minimum maintenance. It doesn’t need any heat transfer fluid. After the vaporizing temperature is achieved, the valves open and LPG enters the vaporizer where it is then converted into gas. At Anil Engineering, we offer the smallest LPG vaporizer in India – MX Pro with a compact design and simplicity for end-users. It is perfectly suited for LOT installations. The wall mounting also helps in saving floor space, and the simple electrical design makes it easy to operate. This is ideal for kitchens, restaurants, company canteens, bakeries, etc.

Water Bath Vaporizer

These LPG vaporizers have a special type of coil through which heat is transferred, and LPG flows smoothly. It is submerged in the water bath heated through electricity. There’s a thermally controlled valve in the inlet of LPG that senses the water temperature and allows liquid to turn into gas only when the temperature reaches 50 degree Celsius.

A pop action safety relief valve is fitted at the outlet so that if the pressure builds up in an unlikely situation, it is relieved without causing any damage. From the outside, the vaporizer unit is insulated using glass wool and aluminium cladding. As a result, it reduces heat loss to the atmosphere and makes the unit safe to touch.

The range of vaporizers of this design is from 50 to 750 kg/hr.

Steam Vaporizer

Also known as the heaterless LPG vaporizer, these do not use any external source of power to supply heat. It uses on-site available steam, high-temperature gas, hot water or any other source of heat to vaporize the liquid propane. They deliver precise temperature control and efficient heat transfer. As a result, they ensure a continuous and dependable gas supply for uninterrupted operations. They are ideal for commercial and industrial applications and offer a great deal of flexibility, too.
